What this calendar is, where its listings come from, and how to make it yours.
What is this?
A free calendar of curling in the United States: championships, bonspiels, learn-to-curls, open houses and courses, gathered in one list from the clubs and the sport’s governing bodies. It is one of the here.events calendars.
Why is there no league schedule?
Because curling has none. It is a small, growing sport, played in clubs rather than arenas: most curlers play in their club’s own leagues, travel to other clubs’ bonspiels, and the best of them work up through USA Curling’s playdowns to the national championships and on to the world stage. This calendar follows that shape, not a pro season.
I have never curled. Where do I start?
At a learn-to-curl or an open house: a club puts you on the ice for an hour or two, lends the shoes and brooms, and teaches the basics. Filter to them, or open Clubs to find the clubs near you; many run them every few weeks through the winter.
Where do the listings come from?
From USA Curling’s event locator, World Curling’s results, the Grand Slam of Curling’s season list, the regional associations, and the calendars about ninety clubs publish on their own sites. Sources, at the foot of the calendar, names them. Every listing links to the club’s or the organiser’s page.
How fresh is it?
The whole list is rebuilt once a day. Clubs change plans, especially for the ice, so check the club’s page before you go.
Can I sign up here?
No. This site takes no entries or payments; each listing links to the club or organiser that does.
How do I put these events in my own calendar?
Press Add To My Calendar at the top of the calendar. It subscribes Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook to the list, and the subscription keeps itself up to date.
What are List, Month, Clubs and Map?
Four ways to read the same events: List, day by day; Month, a calendar grid; Clubs, the clubs near you and how to start; Map, every place an event is held, one dot each and a larger dot where places sit close together (zoom in to part them) — tap one for its events.
A listing is wrong or my club is missing. Who do I tell?
Us, please — through Ghostwood Sites. If your club publishes a calendar on its site, tell us where, and we will read it too.
Do you track me?
Only as far as counting visits: the site uses Google Analytics to see which pages are read. There are no accounts and no ads that follow you; your filters, theme and location stay on your own device.
